Attacking

Attacking is one way through which you can expand your empire. Attacking requires five turns and attacks can only be launched against players who are not in protection.

Different types of attacks
When you attack another empire, you can choose several different kinds of attacks. Each attack type has different rewards and conditions of victory. Generally, the winner is the player who lost less PR (power rating) during the battle, but in raids, skirmishes, and recons, if the defender does not deal above a certain amount of damage to the attacker, the attacker automatically wins. Conversely, if the attacker does not deal enough damage during an invade, suicide, or retaliation attack, the defender automatically wins, regardless of who lost more PR. Each attack type also affects the behavior of ships during the battle. For example, ships performing a suicide attack deal and receive more damage than ships taking part in an invasion. You can choose the type of attack you wish to launch in the attack confirmation screen.
